ITAA to Host National Cyberterrorism Conference

The Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) and the office of U.S. Attorney Paul McNulty will host an Oct. 31 government-industry forum on cybercrime and cyberterrorism issues at Computer Sciences Corp. in Falls Church, Va. The event is being held in conjunction with the FBI, U.S. Department of Justice, President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board, and U.S. Secret Service. The invitation-only, interactive forum is for decision makers and front-line responders in the law enforcement community, private sector, and government agencies actively engaged in recognizing and addressing the challenges and obstacles that organizations face in effectively combating cybercrime and cyberterrorism. Participants will address current and emerging challenges by discussing ways to improve private sector and law enforcement cooperation on incident reporting and response, law enforcement investigations, government-industry information sharing, and other critical areas. Challenges as well as steps needed to improve coordination and collaboration between law enforcement and companies will be discussed. Confirmed forum speakers include McNulty; FBI Director Robert S. Mueller; Howard Schmidt, vice chairman of the Presidents Critical Infrastructure Protection Board; ITAA President Harris Miller; Marty Stansell-Gamm, U.S. Department of Justice; and Guy Copeland, vice president, information infrastructure advisory programs.
