Ukraine: Hackers arrested

Officers of the Dniepropetrovsk Department of the Security Service of Ukraine arrested two malefactors who allegedly attempted to steal big money, committed a series of illegal financial operations using the Internet, the Security Service press center informed.

Criminals used classified information of banks; one of them was an employee of a financial company and thus he had access to such information. Police instigated criminal proceedings and charge them according to the article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (theft, appropriation, extortion of computer information or abuse of office).

Two other men of Dniepropetrovsk used special software and equipment to obtain access to classified computer information from an ISP. They utilized this information to prepare and perform a hacker attack to hack into a local bank. Malefactors were determined and arrested after the investigative work carried out by security service officers. Police filed a criminal case against these hackers based on the article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
