NEW YORK -- A West Point Army sergeant, two former city police officers and a
retired Yonkers firefighter are among 10 people charged with possessing child
pornography, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.
The charges were contained in indictments brought by prosecutors in Manhattan
and Brooklyn as part of a continuing crackdown on child pornography in an
investigation dubbed "Operation Candyman."
Earlier arrests in the investigation were announced this year by Attorney
General John Ashcroft.
Details of the latest roundup are to be described at an afternoon news
conference, when indictments are expected to be unsealed.
