Ex-Amazon workers get probation

HUNTINGTON -- Two former Amazon.com employees who used fake names and e-mail addresses to fraudulently obtain thousands of dollars worth of merchandise have received probation.
Crystal Jane Smoot, 30, of Huntington was sentenced Monday to five years’ probation and ordered to pay $18,662.13 in restitution to Amazon.com, U.S. Attorney Kasey Warner said Tuesday.
Allison Elaine Littleton, 31, of Grayson, Ky., also received five years’ probation but must spend six months on home confinement.
U.S. District Judge Robert Chambers ordered Littleton to pay $27,379.36 in restitution to Amazon.com.
Littleton pleaded guilty in January to wire fraud while Smoot pleaded guilty to mail fraud. Full Story
