A suburban Chicago man has confessed to planting a spy camera to videotape a 13-year-old neighbor girl in her bedroom.
The Arlington Heights Daily Herald said Robert Faber, 33, is charged with child pornography, unauthorized taping and eavesdropping. He could face up to seven years in prison if convicted, police said.
"This little girl's bedroom, and everything that went on in it, was being broadcast to Mr. Faber's video recorders 24 hours a day, seven days a week," said Patricia Fix, chief of the Lake County state's attorney's office cyber crime division.
The scheme was undone when another neighbor of the victim began picking up the spy camera's signal on a video baby monitor installed in his own home. He recognized the girl's bedroom and told her father.
Faber is free on bond and prohibited from having any contact with youngsters except his own.
