The hacktivist group Team GhostShell has posted some 2.5 million records on the Internet in a protest against the Russian government.
In a dump of files on the Pastebin site, Team GhostShell says it is "declaring war on Russia's cyberspace" in an initiative called Project BlackStar. According to the group, the leaked files come from government, education, law enforcement, medical institutions, and large corporations, among others.

The leak is split into multiple files that appear to be from a variety of Russian institutions and businesses, including the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

The group has leaked hundreds of thousands of records in other postings over the last six months, usually in an effort to make a political point. Most recently, it leaked some 120,000 from major universities in an initiatiave called Project Westwind.
