BHUBANESWAR: Training programmes on tackling cyber crime should be organised for police and more cybercrime cells should be set up in major cities to tackle the menace.
This was opined by speakers attending a seminar on ‘cyber crime and role of technology to eradicate it’. Director-cum-Additional DG, Vigilance, Anup Patnaik said, police officials will be sent to places like Delhi where major IT houses will train them on tackling cyber crime.
"Today, the major challenge before the force is that most of them are not well-equipped and oriented about cyber crime. There is an immense need for training because unless there is a solid deterrence, cyber crime will rise alarmingly," Patnaik said. The seminar was organised by Krupajal Group of Institutions.
