The FBI is reporting that fraudsters have established Web sites that claim to collect money to assist with the relief efforts established in the wake of last month's tsunami tragedy -- a particularly vile variant of the phishing scams that have become so common on the Internet.
Complaints also have been submitted to the Internet Crime Complaint Center about e-mails that claim to help families and friends locate a missing person in the area, the FBI says in a statement. Some of the fraudulent Web sites also spread viruses to people who visit them.
