Court documents filed at the U.S. District Court in Washington have revealed that a U.S. government consultant used software programs found on the Internet to break into the FBI's computers. Joseph Thomas Colon broke into the computers four times.
Colon pleaded guilty in March to four counts of illegally obtaining information. These infractions were referred to as "curiosity hacks" and it is believed that his intentions were not to damage national security. He could receive 18 months in jail.
