I have gotten numerous calls from this number too. My case was obviously an attempt to scam - I have no overdrawn accounts with Chase.
The real disturbing issue here is this number 1-800-555-0433 is a legitimate Chase Bank Collections Department number which means two equally bad things are happening here:
1. a very smart group of EVIL people have tapped/ and are tapping as we speak into Chase telephone number and are trying to scam people, or
2. a group of EVIL people within Chase Bank Collections Department, employees of a reputable bank which we trust with our identities and money, are trying to steal from us and destroying the good work and reputation of their company and colleagues.
We all know what is worse. A quick review of all the complaints written online showed me this has been happening since 2006 which makes it all the more appalling!
I warned all my family and friends and sent a letter to Chase Bank copy furnished to the Better Business Bureau of my State. I urge all of you to step up this good citizenry blogging and do the same to force Chase Bank into investigating the matter and put these EVIL people to jail.
Meanwhile, let us all take care of our identities and fortunes. There are pathetic, messed up, EVIL people out there.

These idiots from 1-800-555-0433 are calling my cell phone 4-5 times each day in the last about 10 days!
Of course I never picked up the phone to even talk with them, but this is getting me too angry.
These criminals are terribly persevering!!

Someone called from the 1-800-555-0433 and left a message that I needed to call and confirm I received my Chase credit card. I called and they wanted my Social....I refused and they got rude. I notified Chase who was aware of this scam. I don't even have a Chase card or account.

Actually they left a message, which was cut off because it didn't wait for the beep essentially telling me that I didn't activate my new debit card yet and I should call 1800 935 9935 to re-request it or update my address.
Since I am waiting on a card replacement, that has in fact been 10 days late, I can assume that this is actually chase; the quoted 800 number is chase's real number. Just don't bother to call back on 555 0433, I imagine you're getting some technical department's 800 number there.
