Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine -- According to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency on Tuesday, August 9 security service of Privatbank, one of the biggest banks in Ukraine, arrested a criminal group of internet scammers from Luhansk, Donetsk and Rovno.
Scammers have been trying to apply phishing techniques at the Privatbank official website defrauding clients for months.
Swindlers sent letters on behalf of the security service of Privat24, a Privatbank's online money transfer system. These letters offered clients to login at the alleged website of the bank saying it was caused by caution reasons. Several clients believed those messages but due to appropriate actions taken by the security service of the bank their accounts were blocked in time.
