ZAPOROZHYE, Ukraine (CCRC) - Administrators of the official website of the Ukrainian opposition leader Victor Yanukovich informed about the hacker attack on their website. They claim that a group of hackers broke into the system that serves the current poll on the website. The poll questions whether Ukrainian citizens support the opposition's action "The List of the United".

Hackers attemped to increase the number of the opposition's opponents who rejected a new initiative "The List of the United" and voted "No". Hackers reportedly set a number of 8,000 votes against the initiative. Besides, hackers allegedly threatened to increase the number of negative votes up to 15,000,000.

Administrators call visitors not to pay any attention to hackers and to keep voting.

The action "The List of the United" was started on March 25, 2005 and was intended to counteract to so-called "black-lists prosecution" actions carried out by the Yushchenko authority. The Party of regions, led by Victor Yanukovich, declared these "black-list" prosecutions arranged by the "orange" authorities an initiative to pursue political opposition by all means.
