Ex-principal accused of having child porn

The former principal of an Armstrong County High School was charged Friday with possession of child pornography after investigators found more than 100 pornographic pictures and movies on a computer at the Elderton Junior Senior High School.
Vincent R. Curren II, 51, of Clover Lane, Indiana, Indiana County, who had worked in the school district for 26 years before his resignation in October, also was charged with criminal use of a communication facility.
The school district released a statement saying that no student was the victim of any inappropriate or unacceptable activity.
Curren had been placed on administrative leave in August after network technicians for the school district discovered that various pornographic Internet sites had been visited by a user logged on to the network.
The computer in question was located in Curren's office and the log-on name to the system was Curren's, police said.
Investigators found 102 image files of children either nude or engaged in sexual acts and 39 movie files depicting child pornography on the computer.
