Students vs hackers

Iowa High school students will try to protect an imaginary company from a hacker attack tonight (Saturday) in Ames.
The students will spend 15 hours as the security crew for a fictional dot-com startup company, hours after they designed a computer network that keeps Internet hackers away from the company and it's databases.
After they've designed the networks, the students will have to stay up all night defending that network from a team of Iowa State University students posing as hackers.
The first High School Cyber Defense Competition began at 10 this morning at Iowa State University's Internet-Scale Event and Attack Generation Environment at the Research Park.
I-S-U has previously sponsored three similar competitions for college students, but organizers are hoping to attract more young people into information technology studies and careers by giving high school students the opportunity.
