MENASHA — Parents are invited to attend a community outreach program Thursday aimed at protecting school children from sexual predators who use the Internet to find victims.
Special Agent Eric Szatkowski of the Wisconsin Department of Justice will give a presentation entitled “The Dark Side of the Internet: Sexual Predators of Children” at 7 p.m. at the Menasha High School auditorium.
Szatkowski, a leading national expert on the issue, will describe the traits and techniques of predators who use the Internet to seduce children and how parents and school personnel can protect children from being victimized and exposed to harmful materials. Since 1999, he has been a member of the state attorney general’s task force on Internet crimes against children.
The program, sponsored by the Menasha Joint School District, is free of charge. Parents, not children, are encouraged to attend.
