got a cashiers check issued from State Bank & Trust LOCATED IN fARGO,ND for the amount of 3,845 from FREEBIES UNIVERSAL SWEEPSTAKES WITH A AWARD NOTIFICATION-FINAL NOTIFICATION. SEEMS LIKE i WAS SHARING A LOTTERY WITH 6 OTHER PEOPLE FOR 588,00 DOLLARS (usd). never entered the lotto either, have no ticket to prove I won it,so is it true...the red lit comes on SCAM...called there number 1-416-856-8657 talked to Alan Majors, He explaines the procedure. 1. deposit the money in your bank,wait several hours for it to clear. 2. Call him 3. he will Fed-Ex proper form to fill out and send back with of course a check money order for $ $3,845.00. 4. he will release the $98,000. sounds good. The catch is that the Cashiers check is a forgery and electronicly will clear in several hours, however to physically clear takes 7-10 day's. So you are the one that the bank is going after to retrive the money that you sent to the SCAMMERS and you are out the money. make sense. DO NOT DEPOSIT THAT CHECK, ALSO IF THE BANK THINKS THAT YOU HAVE A FORGED CASHIERS CHECK, YOU COULD BE ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO CASH IT, SO THINK ABOUT IT.

I received a letter dated 10-5-2006 from Skyline World Lotto, claiming I had won $165,000 in Skyline World Wide International Lottery Programs. In this letter was a check for $4,990, to pay for my taxes and clearance fees. I called the telephone number to claim my winnings. 011-44-7939-095-150.
A person who identified herself as Julie Hill told me to deposit the check, let it clear for 2-3 days and then send a money transfer back to her company, which the letter identified as Prudential Financial Management Group in London.
I deposited the check on Oct. 21. It cleared to my account on Oct. 23. I showed the letter to people at my bank and they told me that this was a scam. They said it could take up to two weeks for the check to come back and I would be charged a $10 fee for returned check.
The bank manager told me that what happens in these cases is unsuspecting winners send the $4,990 (minus fees) back to the scammers; the original check bounces and the scammers have $4,990 (minus fees) of the bank's money, which the unsuspecting person must pay for.
I'm waiting for the check to bounce.
When i called this company in London, the person offered me congratulations (twice) and took down my telephone number. I told her that I didn't enter this lotto. Ms. Hill told me my name and other persons' names were drawn off the Internet. This is when i became suspicious. I should have known no one wants to give me $160,010 (after fees) when I didn't initiate the action by entering a lotto.
These people are ruthless, of course. The woman I talked to seemed friendly; even told me she looking forward to her day off the next day. Like a sap, I believed she was genuine.

Boy am I glad I found these websites! I just received my "winning lottery check" from the skyline worldwide lotto as well! Thankfully I am a total skeptic and did my research! The contact info for mine was a Brenda Edwards at Lincoln Financial management and my check was from Washington mutual bank! So please do not try to cash these checks or you will have to pay the fees for a bounced check!! Beware!!!!!

Reason I ask is that I have been told "its the deal," and others say it nothing but "a big money scam site."
